In 1992, Joanne began her graphic design business in Columbia, Maryland. Freelancing as a graphic designer for companies such as Apple Computer, Maryland Public Television, the US Government, the National Concrete Masonry Association, as well as political campaigns, musicians, non-profit associations and small businesses, she has created logos, convention materials, brochures, posters, packaging and advertising for web and print. Utilizing her love of typography and knack for organizing material for clarity, beauty and ease of use, Joanne has created thousands of colorful yet practical communications solutions.
Joanne offers voice lessons in Columbia and Annapolis, Maryland, teaching students from age 13+, though she is not taking any new students at this time. Joanne utilizes her background in yoga and performance to create personalized singing techniques designed to explore and strengthen each singer's natural voice. Students on all levels improve pitch, control, breath support, range and confidence. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs, and singers of all genres are welcome. Joanne also assists students in audition and performance techniques, rehearsal skills, toning exercises for the health of the vocal folds and trouble-shooting singing challenges.
